Why Sean Kingston is claiming to be broke

10 years after attaining global fame with his hit single, ‘Beautiful Girls’, Sean Kingston now claims he’s pretty much broke.
The Jamaican-American singer revealed his dire financial situation in a legal battle over unpaid lawyer bills.
Kingston filed court documents in which he stated that he has less than $500 in his bank accounts and owns no property or cars.

It all began in 2015 when lawyer, James J. Gangitano, sued Kingston, after accusing the singer of not paying $12,500 worth of legal work.
However, the lawyer and Kingston are said to have reached a deal in early 2016 which was supposed to see the singer pay the lawyer $20,000 between April 2016 and January 2016.
But Gangitano headed back to the court months later, saying Kingston breached the deal by failing to make those payments.
Subsequently, a judge earlier this year ruled against Kingston, asking the singer to pay $14,500 in damages with interest until paid off.
Kingston was also ordered to fill out a financial sheet which listed his assets and property in the hopes the firm can use the info to collect on the debt.

Hence, the reveal that he has less than $500 in his accounts and lives with his mother, Janice Tucker, in Los Angeles.
Kingston, who features in a recently released single by Nicki Minaj‘s ex, Safaree, also attached his last three bank account statements, which reveal his dire financial situation.
For his February/March bank statement, his Bank of America account began the month with $18.96 but ended the month with $6.96. His Chase bank accounts started with $370.68 and $207.63 but ended with (negative) $19.65 and $7.22.
Kingston released his debut single, ‘Beautiful Girls’, which went on to become a global hit as it peaked at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 and topped charts in Australia, Canada and UK, among other countries.
